Not sure if anyone remembers me - or even cares
but I'm back with a boat again.
This time, living in France and with a Merry Fisher 725.
Fuel is exquisitely painful at €1.76 a litre for "Essence" as I seem to recall paying around 80p for diesel - back in the day.
To cruise here, I've completed my Powerboat 2, obtained an ICC and converted everything to a Permis Cotier. However, I still don't know much about the area (Royan) or where to go/what to do but the natives are friendly and helping me.
The MF (!) is a good seagoing boat but I do miss my old S28 from an accommodation point of view. The rationale for the smaller (but potentially easy to sell or PX) boat is to get something simple while I work out where I am and what the cruising is like.
Anyway, if anyone is thinking of heading down the west coast of France and would like some assistance for rules and regs or just local knowledge, I'm here to help.
Good to be back
