Has anyone else noticed how flimsy the connections on the plastimo danbouy light are?

The positive to the battery connector came off on inserting the battery so I returned it. On the second one, the connection to the gizmo that works out if the light is unclipped came away. I seem to recall my friend also having an issue with his.

For something so important I'm surprised at the poor build quality. :(

Are there any alternative suppliers out there with something a bit more sturdy?

Agreed, but particularly that the light is also so poor, even when it works!

I kept the housing and reed switch arrangement, but replaced the light unit with a high intensity flashing LED module which I found from a US supplier, took a bit of surgery to the fitting and housing to make it fit, but has worked well over the past 2 or so years

I have Trem one - its all but useless only slightly better than nothing : wires constantly break, reed switch is intermittent, cheap plastic battery tube that splits. I intend putting a mercury switch in and rewiring it but might just bin it in favour of something better made.
