Our Club summer cruise organiser is having difficulty finding a suitable eatery, other than the Royal Fowey YC, for our main meal. This will be 4th, 5th or 6th June.

Likely to be 20 boats, so assuming 80 heads, although this may go up or down once we get firm commitments.

Prefer a venue close to the boats, although a short rented coach ride away can also be considered.

Any or all suggestions gratefully received.

I attended a very good barbecue at Fowey Gallants. Plenty of room there and a good bar as well as a lovely view over the water. Maybe worth a call?

I forget the name, but there is a big pub/restaurant at Mylor. It's on the quay and perfectly decent. there is also a cafe which does one of the best breakfasts it has ever been my pleasure to eat.
Fowey Gallants is also very good as noted above.

Try Greenlawns Hotel, good meals, has space and 1/4 mile from Pendenis marina.
GreenBank Hotel, on Penryn river next to RCYC, should have space, Falmouth Hotel in town by Pendennis marina, owned by a sailor, Dutchy Hotel just up the road, but the last meal the wife had was not that good.

The problem is finding a place with a kitchen to handle that many people, and the holiday season,

Let me know if you want more.

Bizarre idea....... don't know how expensive it would be. But you can hire / have a meal in one of the function room at the Falmouth maritime museum. never done it but it's on there web page. You could all wizz round the museum before hand and it's got a nautical theme.

They do weddings and stuff so i'm sure they can fit in 80 guests for a meal.

And you can park the boats outside !

The Shrimper Association had their 25th Anniversary Dinner in the Maritime Museum. The scoff was excellent and had the remote control yachts all to ourselves !

out of interest was it expensive ? I've only had lunch in the cafe bar area which was rather pleasant. Oh yes the remote controlled yachts are tops /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
