I have just removed both cockpit drain seacocks due corrosion and after cleaning etc. will need to be sealed back in. They came out quite well,[with encouragement from the old 1 pounder,] covered in a mauve sealer of some kind - what would everyone recommend to reseal on refit?

Any old fashioned gunge.

White lead paste would be an exceptionally good choice, unless your children are likely to lick your re-installed seacocks.

Ordinary builders mastic also works, and is perhaps cheaper.

Don't forget to renew the bolts!
