This sounds like an odd one but would anyone know anyone who has had this done? It has been done in the past by the factory on boats that dont usually have a crew cabin. (Pred55)

Currently the boat is fitted with a garage that houses a jetbike side on. We dont carry a jet ski any more and the garage is used as a large store room for kayaks, fenders, boat equip etc.

Would it be possibly to retro fit a crew bunk cabin. Access via hatch under sunpad cushion with steps down. Porthole for fresh air, air con via cockpit air con unit, no heads just single bunk.

Everyone I have mentioned it to so far things its a mad idea but thought I would throw it out there on here.

I think you'd need a loo and sink if you expect crew to sleep in there, but if only one crew then it could maybe just be in the corner of the cabin, doesn't need to be seperate.

Are you sure you want to lose the storage?

edit: if its only for occasional use then maybe a portaloo? The nice thing is, if you have crew to use it, then you have crew to empty it!

Not at all a mad idea. Perfectly do-able. You'd want to do it now in UK because it's probably £8k here compared with €30 in SofF. And you'd need a good firm to do it - I'd start with Osmotech.

I agree you shouldn't fit independent airco; I'd just T off a duct from the closest existing airco and pipe the cold air to the crew cabin, with maybe a flap valve on the T to direct air to saloon or crew. Much cheaper and simpler

Osmotech on their way to the boat now to take a look. Passed on teh comments above - Thanks all.

I'd really think long and hard about whether you want crew to sleep on board, and whether its worth losing all that storage. Do you have anywhere else to put your kayaks, donuts, waterskis, flippers, fenders, fold up bikes, fishing rods, covers, deck brushes, cleaning products etc.?

I've considered stripping out the crew cabin and putting shelving in.

I know what you mean. Im thinking it can still be used for storage when not being used as an occasional bed. I quite like the odd boys weekends / day so extra bed always handy. Kayaks could be strapped down on the bow area and watersports / snorkel gear thrown into the tender whilst out. Storage area is really really useful but so is extra bed. All just an idea at the moment, will see what they come back with.
