Can anyone tell me the times and heights of the tides next Saturday at Cherbourg or point me to a tide table on the internet? I may use the opportunity to dry out. Thanks in advance.

I don't think there is a big enough range as it's neaps.

HW Cherbourg Sat 4th Dec 0056 or 1307 (French time) Height 4.9m or 5.0m
LW Cherbourg Sat 4th Dec 0733 or 2006 (French time) Height 2.8m or 2.6m

So on the tide that gives you daylight working time there is only 2.1m difference.

Ummm.... he could be thinking of using the opportunity to dry himself out, so I am not sure what difference the tides would make. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

<hr width=100% size=1>I can't be bothered with a footnote - it's usually rubbish anyway.

Many thanks for all the replies.
The reason for drying out is to fit a plate to the underside of the hull. Hence I don't mind if the keel is still slightly immersed.
In Cherbourg, if you walk up the visitor gangplanks and turn left towards the centre there is a slipway that I often see boats dried out against. Does anyone know if this is a free facility etc or if I need to see anyone before using it?

The slipway is used by Ecole de Voile de Cherbourg, and they have their own pontoon running next to the slip. Either enquire there or phone the Port Chantereyne Capitanerie on 0033 2 33 87 65 70. They are helpful and speak good English.
