I have just replaced a definitely faulty ST4000 autopilot control (old ST60 shape unit) with a new "pack" containing a wheel unit, sensor, EVO control unit and P70S head. I put on the new ST4000 Mk II wheelpilot, keeping the working original as a spare.
The old ST4000 control used to move the wheel a definite single click-whirr-click amount when you pressed the +10 or -10 buttons, then a few smaller movements to recentre it once the new course was achieved. The new system moves the wheel in lots of tiny click-whirr-click movements to achieve the same result. Have only tested it under power in flat water so far. It also seems slower to respond. Have tried altering P70 settings through the three Leisure/Cruising/Performance options and it still does the slower series of smaller movements.
Anyone else made the same replacement.
