Apologies if you have already read this ( I posted it in PBO RR as well).

I am thinking of replacing my standing rigging since there are a few kinks in it. I have been advised already that all I need to do is to ensure the top of the bottle screw is tight when re tensioning and the kinks will "turn themselves out".

Is this a reasonable solution, or shall I continue as planned and replace the lot. The boat is a vivacity 20 in wales.

Thanks

Re: Replacing rigging ..... tut tut !!!

The reference to keeping top controlled and kinks coming out - was not for your present rigging !! It was to prevent kinks in new !!

If you have opened lay with kinks - then replace. The structure is weakened ....

Its also not a good policy to post on more than one forum same question ....... I know I got bombed for it !!
