Replacing old fridge

The original 230v AC/12v DC fridge [very similar in design to small domestic kitchen type] gave out this weekend. During the removal process so much rust was discovered that it was amazing that it had worked at all for the past couple of years.
I have been looking at an aborption cooler model, the WAECO CombiCool 55 litre top opener that can use both mains and boat battery power.
My problem is how to secure it: bolt it down, lash it down, build it in, fit into a frame, ???
What experiences has anyone of this type of installation? Indeed is there anyone who owns one of these coolers and like to tell me about WAECO? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I don't think that a standard absorption fridge will work very well on a boat. They must be kept level to function correctly. Is the one that you're looking at designed for a boat ?

Waeco have been taken over by Dometic (sic). Waeco used to have a little office and store N of Blandford Forum, but have now moved, and they now don't encourage visits.

The Waeco tech support unit used to be excellent, and when I asked a similar locating question, came up with some brackets which screw into the fridge and the nearest bulkhead of cabinet.

They will also advise on the best cooling system for a boat.

Slight thread drift but some Waeco compression fridge models have the option of a mounting frame. I have been looking at the CF 18 which is the smallest of the range.
Do you really want an absorbtion fridge? The compression ones may be more expensive but they are far more efficient.
An ebay trader is selling new ones with a big saving which might compensate.

Be very very carefull as they use a LOT of power and are very noisy. We sent ours back for a refund. Now have a caravan fridge working very well
