Hi
Have managed to disconnect engine end of gear cable which is split and not working. Thought l was home and dry . However the 4 bolts holding gear lever in place do no do anything and l think it has been 'glued' in place.
Shall l firmly lever it off as l understand l can take the unit out and work easily to replace the cable. There is an inspection port at the back , photos attached, no they too big,
All help gratefully received as l am stuck on what to do.
Best wishes
Philip

I have just had to do this - cable broke. I think my control is from Lewmar with just the lever protruding from the steering pod. First remove the lever, then the four screws - very fiddly which - in my case - allowed me partial access to the cable connections from the removed engine panel. You need access as there is a split pin to take out + a cover and a brace which sits in a slot near the cable end. All very fiddly - just be careful not to break the plastic brace as otherwise you will need a service kit from lewmar.
