Hi..

I currently have a teleflex steering system, and wheel. I want to replace it as the wheel is getting really worn out and a bit loose.

I'm wondering if i could attach a ultraflex wheel onto a teleflex steering system?

Thanks

Do you mean the wheel is loose on the taper or the steering mechanism has slack in it? It would mean replacing different things.

Good point; even though Teleflex systems are basically rack and pinion, they are a lot more sloppy than automotive rack and pinion assemblies and quite variable. The manufacturing +/- tolerances must be far greater, The slop in the system on my 200+ hour 1999 boat was far less than the same system on my 2004 boat when new !

Depending on what's fitted, you might be able to bolt on the new wheel to the old hub ( all the American boats I have had wee fitted with hubs and separate bolted on wheels, with the "Momo" 6 bolt spacing), Some had splined hubs, some had tapered hubs with woodruff keys.
