I have an excellent hand bearing compass, the Morin puck type with a rubber surround.

The only problem is that the original betalight (Tritium) capsule has long since stopped illuminating.

Does anyone know if these can be replaced and if so who does it?

I have a similar french design hand-bearing compass with a tritium light. A few years ago, I took it to the compass repairer in Soton- BPSC Marine, who was able to install a replacement light. Good job @ a reasonable price.

Looks like they are still around, tho think they may have moved from the premises I went to.

You may be able to glue tritium glass vial in place . The glass vials are reasonably readily available in different sizes. I am sure ebay sell them.

Thanks Rob, I e-mailed them, but they were unable to help as "The EEC have deemed them ‘radio active’ ."
