Hi , I would be very grateful for advice/recommendations re a company that can make up some new cushions for the berths in my boat. Mine are probably the original ones and getting a bit flat. I am not getting any younger so would be interested in something a bit more supportive that ordinary foam rubber. A few searches on the net have just left me a bit bamboozled for choice!

Cheers Mick

I cant make any recommendations re what foam to use, but Hawke House in Fareham Supply materials and make to order. I have used them for both material supply and for made to measure cushions, their work was good quality and they are very helpful with advice. We found a wadding or memory foam topper over the main foam greatly improved comfort on a previous boat. www.hawkehouse.co.uk 02392588588.

I have no connection with them other than as a satisfied customer.

Regards

Steve

Where are you?

If anywhere near Southampton, we've had an excellent job done by SewTrim ( http://www.sewtrim.co.uk/ ). Supportiveness of the cushions was a particular concern which they've addressed well.

Cheaper than the usual suspects since their main trade is refitting bus seats :D

Slight thread drift but don't do what I did. I took the old cushions in to the upholsterers for them to copy. When I fitted the new ones they were too short. Back to the shop and they still had the old cushions, we measured them and they had made them the same size. The original cushions were too short! Having only just got the boat I had not noticed! Check your old cushions or get the upholsterers to measure the boat!

Comfort Afloat, which is based in Quay Lane Boatyard just outside Fareham, did a nice job on replacing my rear cabin bunk cushion at a very reasonable price.
