I am hoping that a query here will save me hours of searching ...

I need to replace a Raymarine (P7) depth transducer in a GRP boat. Is Sikaflex 291i the appropriate adhesive / sealant for this? I am advised that this was previously installed with Life Caulk about 15 years ago.

I propose to an overnight lift out for this, with relaunch first thing the following morning. Should I have any concerns with curing ?

Also, and comments regarding use of primer and antifoul, please?

I have used Sikaflex 291i throughout my boat on all through hulls and never had one leak so much as a droplet. Removal is a tough task, which suits me. I have been using the stuff since Boatlife went about 20 years ago.

If you want to stay with a polysulphide then Arbokol 1000 is the same type as Boatlife. Personally that is what I would use rather than a polyurethane adhesive sealant like Sika 291. Both will do the job of sealing but polysulphide makes removal at a later date easier.
