Original glassed in diesel tank was decommisioned because it was leaking and remaining tank a) too small and b) will no doubt start leaking too soon.
Therefore need to replace them and looking for feed back. So far have considered fitting a flexible tank inside the old leaking tank and securing it in place via the eye grommets. Is this sensible for offshore work, or will it just jump about and end up tearing?
Second option is cut top off existing tank and drop a marginally smaller rigid tank inside and glass this in. Biggest problem here is that the original tanks are curved to shape of hull. How do I get a tank the same shape, and/or can I put a triangular one in (ie hypoteneuse of triangle sits on inside of curve) and fill the space between the two surfaces.
Experiences/advice gratefully received
