Sedalia has rear quarter lockers which are always being opened and closed as you access the hidden cleats and stern winch, plus sinks and rope lockers.
The fitted gas struts are either not strong enough or, more likely, failed as the heavy large locker lids have a habit if returning to their closed position with a bit of a crash.
I have one of the struts from attwood marine. It has a part number sticker but it doesn't seem to correspond to the current attwood products. I can work out the shaft diameter and extended/compressed lengths but I have no idea what force the springs were originally.
The options are either 10 or 30 psi with 6mm shaft, or up to 60 psi with an 8mm shaft (existing ones are 6mm)
In case anyone can decode the product key from attwood it is:
1795RM 045N 038/07 L1 SS10-10#
I think it's a stainless steel 10" extended (ss10) - do you think the 10# means it's 10 psi???
