I need to replace my ageing and now unrepairable gas Oven / Hob.

Have been recommended by more than one chandlery to go for a 'Dometic Smev CU335GTM'.

Internet research seems to indicate this is not really a marine unit, but is targeted more at Motorhomes / Camping.

Has anyone any experience with this unit ?

Thanks in advance.

We have one, fitted 12 months ago and in use full time as livaboards. Good cooker for two, oven is a bit small for a full roast and the grill is slow for meat but adequate and good for toast (warm the grill up first). Three ring layout is good unlike some of the others that don't let you get three pans on. It is easy to clean and keep clean. Good gas fail safes on all rings and oven and grill. Got a good review in a YM (I think) review a couple of years ago. Gimbals and fiddles / pot holders work well although we didn't fit the front fiddle and just use the rear one on the rear ring at sea. Overall, 8/10 from us. Whatever you do don't buy the Smev Moonlight or any of those with the knobs above the grill opening!

I fitted one last year and very good it is, but one word of warning the dimensions given don't seem to include the amount that the fiddles extend about 15mm each side.

Thanks everyone, seems like a reasonable bit of kit.

But must mention that a similar post on the CA Forum elicited a VERY unhappy response from one customer :-)
