Replacement fuel tank

I may be given a 'reclaimed' plastic diesel fuel tank from a LandRover Defender. As yet I have no dimensions, or idea of capacity, and I'm hoping someone on 'ere will talk me through the perceived pros and contras.....

I've still to be persuaded it's a good idea.....

Good luck mounting that, they are just all curved surfaces. Oh and the older 110 version has baffles inside so if it needed a clean you were stuffed. However, thank the donor and sell it on the L/R forums or e bay, then buy something a little more suitable.
