Hi I seem to have mislaid or lost my Day Skipper Certificate. I have held the certificate some 10 years. Does anyone know how I can obtain a replacement or will I have to go through the course again. Thanks
I would assume a telephone call to the RYA in Southampton will provide a replacement, though there may be a charge made if you are not a member. I find them extremely helpful with this sort of problem. Sorry, don't have the tele number to hand.
I dont wish to be the harbinger of doom, but you may be lucky to get a copy.
The RYA don't keep records of who passed Day Skipper, I don't think they even keep a copy of Yachtmaster passes either.
The school you passed at should record the name of people they issued tickets to and the ticket number, but 10 years is a long time.
However as said above you should ring the RYA, hopefully I am wrong.
Presumably you are talking about the Practical Certificate. If so, you may be lucky & check out the School records as previously mentioned. However, don't think you have much chance after 10 years.
Don't you have something in your logbook, which might satisfy other parties?
As a matter of interest, is there any specific reason you need it?
I have just done the same thing. Send them an Email - include your RYA membership if you are a member. They send you a form, you send it back with another photo and they send you a new ICC.... V Simple.
