hi folks

Can anyone suggest a supplier who may be able to supply a replacement cockpit drain hose for my Wauquiez Gladiateur as shown on pic - 35 mm inside diameter and about 300mm in length. The corrugations on the hose make it very flexible which is what is required. When installed the hose has quite a sharp S bend shape. I tried ASAP but they were not able to assist.

Thank you.

I would try a good independent washing machine repair place. That looks far too complicated to be moulded in penny numbers for a boat builder. Or maybe it's a car's radiator hose. Peugeot?

There is no way that I would want any boat of mine to be dependent on washing machine quality parts for staying afloat!

The radiator hose Petite Fleur links to looks more the sort of thing.

Another possibility - I seem to recall places offering silicon rubber hoses shaped to order, but can't provide a link just now.

I might, if that's what the manufacturer fitted originally, which is what I'm suggesting. Anyway, what's intrinsically wrong with washing machine parts? Mine is now well over twenty years old, runs beautifully and has never needed a hose - or anything else - replaced.

…………and its been vibrated to death unlike a cockpit drain hose.

Indeed, and the hoses have to carry water from 10 - 90oC and stand up to detergents and bleaches. In fact, come to think of it, I'd be very dubious about using "cockpit drain" quality hose to repair a washing machine.

The original Gladiateur hoses were very fragile. I fitted a 45 degree bronze bend to each seacock and then used pre moulded 45 degree automotive heater hoses. The heater hoses are reinforced and don't have to be bent at all. It makes a neat job. Mine have been on for 10 years now.
