Morning guys

We have an old SimradAP11 auto helm system that has been playing up since we have owned our boat which we have decided to now give up with. It’s got a leaking hydraulic pump and despite being full of oil and having good brushes is tripping on high current, which according to the gods at Simrad, means that the brain is now also failing.

What makes and system would anyone recommend for a 35ft 10t sailing yacht - we’ve got an nmea2000 network already with instruments, chart plotter, and AIS integrated already - they’re Garmin and Furuno if that makes a difference

You do not define what you have from Garmin and Furuno - but if you want fulsome support I suggest you ask Garmin or Furuno. They will be keen to supply you a system, compatible with what you have and if they 'sell' you a system I'd expect, nay, demand they ensure it works properly. Others may backslide and suggest the problem lie with your old kit.

Of course if you are an electronics wizard none of this is relevant.

I would go with Garmin. If you can post details of your other equipment i can tell you how well it will integrate, but it will integrate to a degree, regardless.
