reparing damaged rubbing

Can any one give me any pointers as to how to repair a damaged teak rubbing on a VirgoVoyager. Its towards the stern and has lifted (bent out) away from the hull pulling out/braking off one screw (are they screws, could they be rivets?). Two other screws are probably pulled as well. I was thinking of cutting the “bent” length off, filling the screw holes with epoxy and re screwing onto Sikaflex.
Will this work and if they are rivets what do I do?

I would poke out the plugs from any other dubious-looking fastening points and find out what they are. Then I'd pull the strake back into position and refix as necessary on Sikaflex with longer screws or even bolts and nuts. Don't cut the strake as it's been bent round the shape of the hull and it would be hard to get a fair curve on the replacement section. Then have a good look at the other end and the other side to catch it before it pings off!

In all likelihood the rubbing strake is bolted through from the outside with the nuts on teh inside of the boat, possibly glassed in, with the outside end of the bolt hidden with a teak plug.

Get out the old fittings (this requires access the hull on the inside) and drill right through and re-bolt.

Have replaced sections on my Virgo Voyager. They are bolted through, with the nut glassed in. What can happen (and has to me) if the glassing for the nut fails then it will fall off and allow the bolt to pull out. If your wood is ok, so long as you can get to the back (from Locker or Quarter Berth) it is simply to replace the nut using a nylock and resolve the problem. If the wood needs replacing, as for me it is a lot of work to get it right, but can be done. A lot easier with the boat out and not moving though. Get in touch if you need to know anymore.
