topsides painted in last 5 years and generally paint finish in good condition . However some scratches and bumps after repair want to touch up . Unfortunately dont know brand of paint or type . Suspect its an International dark / navy blue . Have Int colour card but proof of pudding is to try some for matching but dont want to buy large pot/s or repaint whole boat . Are there little matching pots /paint pencils etc on market for testing ?

Try a few solvents, white spirit, meths, acetone etc to see what one will leave some colour on your rag, then talk to your local paint shop and advise them what solvents you used and what one removed some, with this information they can tell what to use and colour match it if you take a small sample in.

Good luck.

I agree with Oldsaltoz but I would talk to International rather than the local paint shop when you have tried the solvents.
If it is single pack you will probably get some staining on clean rags with acetone but not if it is a 2 pack.
2 pack is more likely to have retained its colour well and match easily with a new tin.

I've had the same problem - scuffs and scratches on green-painted topsides, which show up a much lighter colour from beneath. I've had some success with pots of Humbrol model paints - mix your approx colour with a tad of black or a lighter variant, and try a few dabs with a fine model-making brush. Assess the results in good daylight, and adjust as necessary.
