Just arrived in Cala Santa Ponsa after a splendid sail from Ibiza, and what a magnificent anchorage, complete with free, fast wifi!

We need to leave the boat for 2 or 3 weeks at the end of July, while we return to England. It's a cat (9.2 x 6), so any marina will be horribly expensive, even if it has space.

Does anyone know if it's possible to rent a mooring buoy, or lay one's own, or even buy one (wouldn't mind staying for a year or 2)? Any suggestions on where to ask greatfully received. (Am in the CA, so shall be asking the HLRs.)

If this doesn't work, it's back to Torrevieja, which has a very good summer deal for cats at present.

Try Terry Greenwood in Andraitx who lives on board the catamaran "Catspaw" tel: 34 686004085 .He often has contacts regarding the availability of mooring buoys when the owners are off cruising.

Hello Tony,

My boat is moored in Club Nautico Santa Ponsa. Too much moolah but it is what it is...

Over the summer, there are numerous live aboards anchored in SP bay; perhaps someone could look after your boat while you are away.

I would offer to help but I am in OZ at the moment returning home on 12 June.

PM if I can help. FWIW, I think Terry is gone now. But I could be wrong.

He lays great moorings, he laid my old one and the boat was always safe and sound, even in winter in Andraitx. GL
