Does anyone have experience in replacing the fuel tank in a centre cockpit Westerly Renown ? I cannot see any way to get at the bolts holding the aft end of the tank.
I helped to replace one in a Berwick 3 years ago. That had no fixings at the back just two screws in the front feet. It had to then be pulled forward after removing the filler, rotated through 90deg then tuned on its back before it could be lifted out. We had the new one made slightly smaller so that it was easier to get in.
No. Only two feet at the front. Its not very big from back to front. It's also held pretty much in position by the filler. I'm assuming of course that the set up in the Renown is the same as that in that in the Berwick.
Vic, thanks for your input. The Berrick and the Renown are the same hull I believe, just different rig and fittings. Hopefully, the fuel tanks are the same.
