Removing vinyl lettering from a tender

Apologies if this has been done to death, but I need to change the name on my tender, which has vinyl lettering. Is the process the same as removing from grp, a bit of heat? Will the heat damage the tube?

assume the dinghy is a rubber flubber
hair dryer ok for GRP

Hair dryer, but you only need to soften the glue (so don't fry it)

Ok guys thanks, so same on the tender tubes as the boat hull then.

Any glue left will come off with Methylated spirits but I am not sure if this is safe on an inflatable. Please check before applying any meths.
