There has been some mention on the forum of the Feinmaster tool for use in removing teak deck caulking. I've looked at the various sites but have not found a narrow enough blade to do the job as the caulking is about 4mm wide on Rampage and the narrowest blade I've come across is 10mm. Anyone been able to source a narrower balde? Or do I need to grind a blade down to size? Or is there a technique to use the wider blade taking the stuff out in chunks as opposed to working along the strip?

Any help gratefully received.....

The slots in mine are not all the same width. So I bought an almost antique plough plane on eBay with a set of blades that will enable me to do all of them. In this instance I prefer the subtlety and control of a manual tool.

We have just re-caulked Englanders decks, we started using the fein, but found it easier and more control, to cut down each side of the caulking with a stanley knife and use a chisel or narrow screwdriver to take out the old caulking.
Some of my grooves needed deepening, not many thankfully, so we did all the grooves with a palm router (bosch) and a 1/4" all tungsten carbide router bit, guiding it with a strip of wood screwed down into the previous groove, worked wonderfully, if a bit time consuming. If you are going to sand the decks after re-caulking, I would reccomend sanding them before, roughly to get a flat surface, then sanding them lightly afterwards.
Ours have come up lovely.
We found the fein, too difficult to control properly and too time consuming to get a good finish.
