Removing seized skin fitting

Well I did it. Three fittings removed. Combination of grinding away at the flange on the fitting and a hammer and chisel to lift what remained. I had a couple of slips and did put a couple of gouges in the GRP, but I've opened these up with a dremel and they don't go far beyond the gel coat. They'll fill easily with epoxy and given the thickness of the epoxy/chopped strand backing plate I'm going to build up behind it I'm not worried about any loss of strength.

So if you're brave the grinder is a usable way to go...

I'm going to start another thread to show a couple of pics of one of the fittings I removed.
