My old valiant rib has seen better days, it only has one rowlock (Last time out my outboard conked out and I had to paddle canoe style back to the boat) and some, well most of the fittings have fallen off.

I would like to buy some new bits and stick them back on, but the old fittings have left ugly patches of dried glue.

Whats the best stuff to clean this off?

Yes, but at £27.38 / 5 Litres it is very expensive.

I actually found cellulose thinners (standard) very good at softening the old glue or even gun cleaner which is even cheaper.

How about £16.99 for 5L on ebay?

Not sure I need 5L though!

What other uses apart from removing SWMBO's nail varnish does it have?
