Removing mildew from burgee!

I left a couple of burgees including my lovely forum burgee hanging on the grab rail right underneath where a previously unknown drip fell. As a result, during the last couple of weeks of constant downpours they became damp and started to sprout mildew.

Brought them home and currently soaking in bog standard detergent which I suspect will do little but what is good for removing the spots and won't rot the material.

True. I was also thinking that they are only in public when they are 1/2 way up the mast and that anyone who spots flaws whilst up there deserves to find something to criticise!
