Depending on how bad I just use a basic polish (Autoglym car polish to be precise). This is very very mildly abrasive and will remove most marks, also leaves it nice and shiny.

Jif seems to contain a very mild abrasive. It is Ok for plastc baths so should be ok for what want. It may not be abrasive enough in which case try a fine rubbing compound like T-cut. If that dosn't work try a medium grade rubbing compound.

The contact betwwen the boats is more likely to have scratched the surface than any of these materials

I know a Howard from Hull, but he left of his own accord. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

There is a combined GRP cleaner / polish available, comes in a blue plastic bottle, (can't remember the name, but Jorinda sells it in his swindlery, drop him a PM and ask). It shifts shoe scuffs etc with ease, so it should do the job for you.
