Removing fenders from one\'s back side

Tigger's rear "fender" is due for replacement. As far as I can tell it is one of those PVC profiles stuck on the stern edge with what looks like Sika 292. How do you suggest one might go about removing the old fender and adhesive?

Watch out, these are sometimes bolted on with hidden bolts so Sikaflex is just a sealant. Can you access the inside of the boat where it is attached? If not, get a squirrel to look for the nuts /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: Removing fenders from one\'s back side

If it is one of the Vetus type, has a plasticised insert in the centre, which when removed will reveal any fastenings. If of said type...copius amounts of hot water/Heat gun required /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif just to get it out!
