Hi,

What products do you recommend for removing hard barnacle-like growth on the gel-coat just above the waterline, without damaging the gel-coat?

Many thanks, Allan

I used a plastic scraper available from painting and decorating suppliers. They are used for wall paper removal. I have also used blocks of wood, oak from a floor board job. Just slid the block along hull smashing them up. Last winter I used a large screw driver blade to chip a neat line of them off. Just be careful and you wont damage the gel coat. A green plastic scouring pad was used to clean up the circles left behind by some of the barnacles.
