hello,

removed a nice and solid piece of 15mm ply (approx 570X800) which I want to reuse as a bunk base (to rest the mattress on top).

Problem is, this particular piece of ply has soaked lots and lots of ATF fluid from a (not so) tiny leak of the steering hydraulics over a long period of time.
Cleaned it as best as I could, left it under the sun and oil is oozing out... If I keep on cleaning, and heating it it will probably be clean by xmas

Any magic recipe for cleaning it?
Alternatively, I'll turn it around and sand and paint again (said side was unpainted...)
any ideas welcomed!

cheers

ATF will leach out until there's a dry stain. It will smell in a cabin or in the saloon even after that. Don't be so cheap and buy some new ply. Painted WBP will do quite well for what you have in mind.

Loads and loads of white spirit if you must reuse it.

thanks,

I'll probably leave under the sun for the summer and possibly use it next year :D
I'll check the other leftovers I have and get something for the bed

cheers
