On of the options being considered for temporarily providing protection from wave damage to a Centaur's windows, is to bond a layer of Perspex or other such material to either the frames, or indeed the GRP surrounding the frames. I have used sikaflex to bond things, but have never had to remove it from anything. Assuming that equal strength (in terms of reinforcement) would be gained by both, which material is easiest to remove sikaflex from, aluminium or GRP ?

You would need to mechanically remove it from either surface. Do not use Sikaflex 291, as this is a (very effective) adhesive. Removal inevitably results in surface damage.

You should be using a marine sealant of some sort, as opposed to an 'adhesive sealant', and provide some sort of mechanical fixing.

I agree. Materials bonded together using sikaflex are very difficult to seperate. It is an extremely effective adhesive. If the bonding is only going to be temporary then don't use sikaflex.
