Hello all,
New here so be kind.
I have a 21 ft OLD invader. I have just taken over the boat from my father.
I have just had the stern drive taken off for a looking at by a local boat comany here on the Balearic Islands. All was good, new water pump, seals gaskets, anoids, and leg back on. Oil was pumped in and all seamed OK.
Then mechanic tells me that he did not realise (Cos the feed tube had broke off) that we had a remote leg oil res in the engine compartment. To replace this was going to be a lot of work and money. So he said it would be ok to bung up the feed tube and take out the valve thing insde the leg, this would not allow water into the leg, and the oil should not leak out (Hope not) This is only a temporary messure until we repair next winter. Question : is this ok? anyone heard of this ??? Thanks.
