I have just posted same on the other forum:

I am split between either the Aquaticav http://www.aquaticav.com/marine-aud...-stereos/aq-bc-5bt-bluecube-hide-away-stereo/ or the Fusion Black Box http://www.fusionentertainment.com/marine/products/black-box-entertainment-systems/ms-bb300r.

I have no room above the chart table for a conventional head unit, and I do not need to play CD's so either of these would suit my purpose but the latter is a lot more expensive.

Can anyone recommend one or the other, or even any alternative??. I think that with the rise of Blue tooth, Beat boxes and such like, the days of the car radio set up have just about gone.
Thanks

In my home I have a housewide Sonos system and we now use an iPad to control, music being stored on a hard drive. Works very well for us and I would use on my next boat.

The system will play music from hdd and stream from Internet.

Personally, I would go for a simple Bluetooth speaker, I use a Bose Soundlink mini, a surprisingly good sound in a very compact unit for £150.00.

I have Sonos system at home but to really benefit from it, it needs to be linked using wifi which I suspect most boats don't have when away away from their berth.

Cheers
