Is there such a thing as in in line electric bilge pump or one with a small pick up, I have installed a rule 2000 but the hull shape won't let it sit very low so there is a fair amount of water it can't get out, is there a pump which works along the same lines as a manual pump so I could just run a pipe into the lowest point?

There are plenty of pumps that would do this and could be wired up to either a float switch or manual. I got one from Lidl. They will probably not be marketed as bilge pumps though.

I fitted a Whale Supersub 650 two years ago, very low in height and works well under my engine and 'does not need' a seperate float switch, there is also a larger capacity one out now I think

I have a jabsco diaphragm pump in the lazerette switched by a water witch, it works just fine

Cheers both look viable but il need to easier the room I have to play with, diaphram pump would work fine then have the rule as an a emergency back up

My experience with electric diaphram pumps is that they are stopped working very easily with bits of crud sticking under the valves. I find an impeller type pump much more reliable and robust for moving dirty water.

You might experience things differently but just my two pennyworth.
