Thanks for that photo.............I did 'NEARLY' get tempted to bring the old ones back last weekend. Glad I didnt, but I bet the parachute flares would hve made a grand finale!

Now I have the hassle of finding somewhere to dump them.

Amazed how fast they have caught the person.

I along with other posters realise how serious this could have been and my attempts to make light of the subject is in the interest of attracting as many as possible to the post so the dangers can be high lighted.


I will not launch a distress rocket for amusement.

For info, I have been told that the vendor who sold the flares are REQUIRED to take them back once out of date. Has anyone tried this / had problems as while mine still have a while to go (only purchased last week!) it was something I thought about.

Sea based distress parachute flares are for sea only. Why? Coz they drift down slowly to be extinguished by water - not so when the lump of burning magnesium lands on yer garden shed.
