Have a perfectly good used 1.5" propeller shaft which with a bit of machining could be pressed into use again.
New shaft from Norris et al is £600.00
Merely needs shortening by 12" , retapering and a hole drilled for prop shaft clamp pin.
Basically would like it for a spare and ready to go if needed.(Dont ask :))
Based in N. Kent, cannot seem to find a local workshop capable of handling the shaft length.
Reluctant to send it half way across the country due to transit costs.
Experiences or suggestions welcome.

I should think a significant chunk of Norris' price is accounted for by the time spent machining the taper and thread, drilling the hole etc. In effect, all you are doing is providing them with a blank.

But you could try JD Autoworx, Wallington. Not too far to drive from N. Kent. I have had machining done there and the prices were reasonable and the service excellent.
