I have relisted this post as I could not get the image to download. Thanks to VICs I have now managed to download it.
Therefore I would Appreciate some simple information regarding the wireing of the below consumer unit which I need to hook up for shore power. The unit is preassembled as shown with RCD 40A 30mA and 2xMCBs. 1x16A and 1x6A.

The RCD or MCBs are not marked L or N.

Difficult to see with such a small picture.

But, rcd is on the left, you have a blue wire going from bottom left to a terminal bar in the top of the box. This bar is used for all the neutrals from your loads (sockets, lights etc)

Lives for the loads go into the top of the mcbs, sockets etc into the 16a, lighting into the 6a.

There should be another terminal bar for all the earths.

Incoming supply from your shorepower socket goes into the top of the RCD neutral on the left, live on the right.

I would strongly suggest you get this checked out by an electrician before you apply power, he will test the insallation for you.
 
The image is no substitute for a wiring/installation diagram and the following is a guess at what might be the way to connect the unit, as such it should be considered for discussion only.
Incoming neutral goes to the top left terminal of the RCD, incoming live goes to the top right of the RCD and is supplied to the MCBs via the bus bar at the bottom. Live to the loads comes from the top of the MCBs and the neutral retun from the loads goes to the nuetral bus bar at the top left. Incoming earth goes to the earth bus bar at top right and is connected to the earth of all loads.

This is my best guess and is no substitute for an installation diagram, I stongly suggest that you get an electrician to check the installation before connection.

Starfire and martinb have provided you with correct advice on wiring the unit. However, these units are always supplied with wiring diagrams, so I'm surprised you haven't got one.
 
I've got to agree. Consumer Units aren't that difficult to figure out and wire up so if you're having to ask the question, I'd say you really shouldn't be trying to fit it. You might get away with it - but then again, you might not ! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Ive just fitted one this afternoon and Starfires instructions sound about right, just double check before fitting cover and trying.
