Refurbishing steering compass

My 1982 Sadler 32 is fitted with a couple of Plastimo Contest bulkhead compasses but the 'windows' have become opaque, presumably due to UV degradation. Is it possible to refurbish them so that I can see where I am going? If so, how?

A company called SIRS at Meopham in Kent,refurbished my old Sestrel steering compass for me. New card and dome. Tel:01474 816320. Worth a 'phone call.

I use Robinson, the compass adjuster in Hamble.

Try products called plastic scratch remover made by Starbrite (US co). I have used in past to great effect for unreadable Plastimo compasses. There is also step 2 which is a polish. Not expensive, just rag and elbow grease required.
