I have been putting this job off for over a year' cos I knew it would be a nightmare. Long narrow window with 38 SS nut/bolt fasteners through the aluminium frame. With SWMBO doing a valiant job holding the spanner on the inside, getting the things out took about an hour then it took me another hour to cut through all the mastic of unknown make that still held the frame to the fibre glass. My question is jusk how much sticky stuff is really needed to end up with a watertight seal? I am thinking that as long as enough is used to ensure a continuous gasket all round the frame so that it squeezes out and the bolts are liberally coated then using any more is a waste of money? Rain stopped play today but it goes back in tomorrow. 3M 101 my weapon of choice. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
