Quick answer: you can refill existing Calor butane bottles in Norway with Propane.

Ok so further to many discussions about gas bottles in Norway and the possibility of actually refilling a 4.5kg butane bottle in Norway to avoid either buying a new GRP bottle that may not fit in you locker or worse, having to use expensive CampinGaz bottles.

The Answer: yes you can in Minol LPG stations. I'm stood at one such station on the harbour side in Rorvik and just had my 4.5kg blue butane filled with Propane. Professional outfit and wasn't a sly thing in the back of an old shed.

£23 to fill.

I pay £9 to refill a 6kg Calor bottle in the UK. At ~7NOK / Litre (65p) Norwegian Autogas is similarly priced so >£2.50 / litre seems like extreme profiteering to me.

Rather pricy I'd say. Is it the same working preassure for butane burners as for prophane? I know it's different for natural gas. You'll see when you fire it up! :)

This isn't an exercise of getting the cheapest gas it's more a way of avoiding having to get another gas bottle / a bottle that doesn't fit you're locker and / or Anne's regulator.

The GRP Bottles are good here but the cost of getting one afresh plus a new regulator plus they're often too large.

Anyway thought it would be helpful considering all previous feedback was that I'd never get a Calor bottle refilled.
