reefing block problem

Our Beneteau Oceanis 43 has single line reefing and both the front blocks have seized, having taken them apart there is a 36 mm aluminium block and stainless spindle that are well and truly bonded together.
Can anyone identify the manufacture of the block – there is no writing or markings on any part!

The other blocks that form the single line reefing are (I think) Rostan as they have a big R on them

If you do a search on "Clew block" several similar things come up. It should be easy to find something which will do the job even if it isn't from the same manufaturer.

It must be fixable, remove the nut & drive out the bolt/ spindle

You say you have taken them apart
If so chuck the pulley away & fit a new bolt with a nylon pulley
If you cannot source a pulley you could get one from an old block
You might even be able to use a ballrace pulley from a barton block
If you did not get it apart cut the nut off each side & drill the first 6mm from each side & the pulley will drop out

Rutgeron do some clew blocks that look very similar to those in the pic and that could be where the R comes from

It is a Z Spar that we have rigged as per the page - and there is a phone number, so here's hoping...

Kayosprucehave such an item in their curent catalogue references CLB042;050;070;100; depending on the block diameter,but as yours is 36mm this may not be of help. The unit is anodised aluminium cheeks and with a nylon roller,and stainless pin/washer. Should you enquire as to price(individually sold by the way) also ask them to send you a copy of their current catalogue. I've always had good advice and service from them, so I recommend them.
