I have tried both side by side this year. The intention was to see how much I used them. The app is simply an electroic version of paper addition, although it does provide some live weather data and is subject of updates.
I have found having the app useful in respect of it always being to hand - paper copy often on the boat, planning often done at home etc.
The biggest drawback is the cost of having the two (double the price) which is why I am thinking of sticking with just 1 next year, in which case it will be the paper copy. I would not want to be without the hard copy personally.
Never had the paper version - no room for it - tablet version works well for me. It's a reference rather that a read, keep systems manuals in tablet too! All information in one place. For magazines, thiugh, I prefer the paper version where it's offered.
