moored at the dorney lake /boveney moorings a few days ago.and noticed a new sign at the upstream end of the EA 24 moorings.

it said something like,"PLEASE LEAVE A 7 METRE GAP EITHER SIDE OF THIS NOTICE."

i assumed it must be for the rower's launches, but it does reduce those moorings by 14 metres.

the sign would not be easy to read from mid-river as the letters are not very big,and there is no defining line to inform boaters as to where they may or may not moor.

not every boat carries a tape measure aboard,so there may be some confusion and possible conflict when boats moor up?

Hasn't that sing been there for two years or more?

When I last moored there the sign was plonked in the middle of a 14m gap and as the bollards ere a different colour I assumed is was for a disabled boater. (it could have been that the bollards hadn't been painted.

Now of course, they'll have to have a white triangle on them to show in which direction you should trip.......
