Any one know where i can get redlead powder in australia?
Appears to be illegal, paint merchants look at me as if i'm mad

I had the same problem in London. As it's a posion, there all sorts of Regs about it's storage. Got a nice little packet of both red and white lead in an artist's shop that specialised in oil paints and their preparation. Apparantly artist's use it to mix up their own colours. You might try that.

I haven't seen red lead powder, either, but I can buy red lead paint from Hempels in Fitzgeralds Road, Laverton, Victoria. They may have a branch in your state. You could try mixing a little of this with glazing putty if you are trying to make up a stopping.

For those of us in the UK, you can get redlead putty at www.tradboats.com. I suppose they could send it to most places in the world but at what cost?

Traditional boats also do red lead powder so if you need supplies abroad it would be much cheaper to ship the powder and get the putty locally
