Yes. I'm told its something to do with emissions, optimising the spay pattern ect, but get it wrong, fitting washers on non washer motors and you have no power as the spray impinges against the nozzle port. Dunno about marine motors but this is why I advised caution and take nothing for granted. Don't ask how I know this.... :o

Same motor in 3 different chassis can be 3 different specs. That's the bus world for you. It gives me fits trying to sort out the correct spec, esp if the boss buys in a motor and wants the spec changing to something else. Even the coolant path through the block can be different.

LS will no doubt well know the pitfalls of leaving out the correct flow diverters.
