I suggested on another forum that road diesel was probabaly best for one's engine, the only advantage with red being for large quantity consumers. Always understood that the detergents, lubes etc in road diesel were better for the engine. Also that keeping the fuel tank topped up over winter not allowing condensation to form helped keep the bug at bay. Not so, I've been told. The small portion of bio diesel found in road fuel contributes to the bug, red is always best. Also that topping up the tank with fresh diesel merely feeds the bug. Can someone (Vyv Cox ?) comment please ?
